Becky Taylor BECKY TAYLOR, Artistic Director is a junior and plans to major in nutrition at UT. She has been dancing for 15 years, focusing mainly on ballet and jazz at Forcher’s Dance Center in Irving, TX. Becky was a company member of Momentum Dance Company from 2002 to 2008 under the direction of Jacquelyn Ralls Forcher with whom she danced principle roles in the ballet Coppelia and as the Dew Drop Fairy and Snow Queen in the Nutcracker. She was Captain of the Irving High School Toy Tiger Drill Team for two years. She has received solo awards at MA dance and American Dance/Drill Team Competitions and has also received ballet scholarships from Dupree Dance Expos.


Ashley Holliman Ashley Holliman, Artistic Director is a UT junior from Garland, TX, majoring in Communication Disorders. Ashley started her dance training in 2001 at the High Society Studios in Garland, where she took classes in several different dance styles. She also was part of the studio's competitive Junior and Senior dance teams. In 2006-2008 she was a member of the DanceFX Studios senior dance team, serving as captain, and was chosen 2007 Senior Performer of the Year. Additionally, she was a member of the Sachse High School Swingsters drill team, where she served as captain her senior year. As a member of both teams she competed regularly in various competitions, where she received numerous team and individual awards, and was a regional solo finalist. Ashley also attended dance conventions sponsored by L.A. Danceforce and the New York City Dance Alliance. She choreographed several of her dance team routines and has continued to choreograph for various teams and individuals.


Sarah Satinsky SARAH SATINSKY, Publicity Manager, a senior in Plan II at UT, loves being a member of STEEL. Sarah really got into dance when she was in 8th grade and began taking classes in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, and Hip Hop. At her studio in Irving, Forcher’s Dance Center, Sarah was on the Dance Force Competition Team and, in addition to attending Dupree Dance Competition, performed in various venues throughout the Dallas area. During her senior year, Sarah was co-captain of Dance Force. Sarah was also a dancer in her high school’s dance program and choreographed for a number of their shows.


Kristen Wiley KRISTEN WILEY is a senior Public Relations student, graduating in December, from Friendswood, Texas and has been dancing since the age of 3. She studied jazz, ballet, tap, modern and hip hop under Steven Boyd, Manuel Barra, and Trisha and Holley Owens. Kristen has performed in many musicals, and had the opportunity to dance in New York. Her favorite part of high school was being a member of her high school dance team, the Celebrities. She was chosen as 1st Lieutenant her junior year and then had the opportunity to serve as Captain her senior year. As Captain she won several solo, small group, and team awards at various competitions. Kristen also taught dance for many years and choreographed dances for her team and studio.


Lauren Baker LAUREN BAKER grew up in Houston and began training at the age of seven at Cookie Joe's Dancin' School. After taking a few years off, she dove back into dance trying a variety of styles including Hip Hop, Jazz and Ballet at some of Houston's top studios, such as City Dance, Abbott's Performing Arts Center, DanceZone, and The Dance Factory. While in high school Lauren was an active and award-winning member of the Cy-Springs High School Drill Team. She was a Regional Soloist in 2006 and 2007 and won the Crowd Pleasers Dance Camp "Outstanding Dancer" award in 2006. For two years she also helped choreograph her high school's annual Spring Show. Before moving to Austin Lauren performed professionally for the Sugarland Sharks, the Sugarland area's arena football team. Here at The University of Texas, Lauren is studying Kinesiology with a minor in dance, with ambitions to attend physical therapy school.


Emily Knox Emily Knox has been dancing since the age of four. She began her training here in Houston at Connolly Dance Arts under the direction of Kathleen Grbic and Julia Griffin. At the age of 6, Emily began competing with the Connolly Dance Arts Company. She has won numerous awards from both regional and national dance competitions including Junior Miss Dance of Texas representing Dance Masters of America Chapter 3 and Teen Miss Dance of Texas also representing Dance Masters of America Chapter 3. While dancing at CDA, Emily also had the opportunity to train with well-known dancers and choreographers, Marlana Walsh and Joe Celej, of the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company. Emily was a member of the Inertia Dance Company all four years of her high school career at Westside High School. While in Inertia, she was directed by Sharon Roberts and Enrique Cardenas. The company competed both regionally and nationally with the MA Dance Competitions, winning national titles all four years Emily was a company member. Since being in Austin, Emily has been taking weekly classes at Ballet Austin. Emily is currently a senior at UT, majoring in Biology on the pre-med path. She is looking forward to her first semester on Steel Dance Company!
